Paige Pickar, who graduated from Warroad High School, earned the Gaylord A. Gunderson Scholarship

Two recipients of the Larry Diffley Memorial Aviation Scholarship have been announced by the fund advisory committee.

Masresha Toward, who graduated from Bemidji High School, earned the George Pelawa – Calgary Flames Scholarship and the James and Sylvia Sande Scholarship.

Lydia Hodgson, a graduate of Warroad High School, earned the Warroad Presidential Freedom Scholarship.

Hallie Harmoning, a graduate of Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, earned the Lois Ludwig Memorial Scholarship.

Jody Pemberton, a graduate of Bemidji High School, earned two scholarships through NMF: the K.E. “Red” and Ruth Shannon Wilson Scholarship and the Mississippi Headwaters Blood Bank Scholarship.

First recipient of Lois Ludwig Memorial Scholarship is substitute teaching in Ms. Ludwig’s same district.

The cost of one child’s college tuition is hard to manage; for the Balstads, there were three entering college all at the same time. Trent, Faith, and Lance Balstad all graduated high school in 2000.
