Indigenous Parent Leadership Initiative celebrates graduation of second cohort

The Northwest Minnesota Foundation Board of Directors met in-person last Friday, May 19th, at the Lake of the Woods Distilling Company in Baudette.

The family and friends of Katie Brommenschenkel Vilmo have established the Katie Brommenschenkel Vilmo Scholarship Fund, a component fund of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation.

A Prairie Restoration Project is expected to occur in May at a site east of Warren.

More than $880,000 was loaned or granted out into the region from January through March through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation.

While the deadline has now passed for most scholarships, a few scholarship funds are still accepting applications!

More than $285,000 in funding has been awarded to Tri-Valley Opportunity Council to address homelessness in Marshall and Norman counties.

Garrett Larson, the owner of Ronnings stores in Baudette, Roseau, Thief River Falls, and International Falls, has been named the 2023 SBA Minnesota Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Thanks to a grant from the Thief River Falls Area Community Fund, a portable wheelchair swing is now available for use through the NorsKids Foundation.
