We ask ourselves and others, “How are our children?” as healthy and confident children are better able to grow and flourish. That’s why NMF is partnering with communities to strengthen support for children and families.
Because children are our future
The outcomes of children are a measure of how the region is doing overall. Unfortunately, there are many communities in Northwest Minnesota with higher needs and disparity gaps. The leaders within those communities need support to create stability for families and build confidence in children.
We create stronger support for families
Addressing disparity is of utmost importance in our approach, which is why our work is focused and by invitation only with the tribal and non-tribal communities of Red Lake, Mahnomen, and the Bemidji area. We aim to reduce health and economic disparities using a multi-generational, multi-agency collective approach. The challenges in each community are complex and require coordination and investments to bolster locally-driven solutions for the long term. We listen to, build relationships with, and collaborate with community stakeholders.
NMF has key partnerships with All Nations Rise and Northwest Indian Community Development Center.
